in regards for subs vs dubs, I always say that it's best to watch which ever you think/feel you will be able to digest the content the best! Many Anime have fine voice actors and performances and some can and do rival the original voice over! BUT being able to absorb and in your case, react, is definitely the most important because it helps create those strong emotional connections to the story and characters! hope you enjoy FMAB :) I actually prefer it in ENG

I just stumbled onto your channel , intrigued by your review of this movie ..... PLEASE find the BBC TV series , the English are far superior to Americans when it comes to comedy and satire. I saw the TV series many years ago and was very much looking forward to this movie ..... it left me disappointed and hoping those that see this movie will look for the series and see how the author really wanted the story to be told, but with the english touch. Just sayin'

I'm just going to say it, the dub is far better than the original. Most modern anime have better English VO than the original Japanese. Don't feel bad for watching an improved product.

As someone who grew up with the original Dr Who, the new format of one story in one episode was a bit grating. It used to take 4 episodes (or 3 or 6) to tell one story which would allow you to speculate about what would happen next (and might better fit your particular reaction format). This means the plots tend to be less complex (still have to fit in all the required running about and shrieking) than before. But honestly most were just happy the show was back. It's always been horrific (though for children), the meme about watching it from behind the sofa isn't without merit. And the environmental and social messaging has always been present; very much ahead of it's time in many ways. On average people tend to favour their "first" doctor (so Pertwee/Baker transistion was mine). When the show started Police boxes were still an everyday object in cities. There was a hatch on the outside (the panel with the instuctions on it) with a land line phone in it so a member of the public could call the station. You'd rarely see the door open, but there was a shelf like desk inside and (not sure if this was officially sanctioned) a kettle to get a brew on.

The police box was really only relevant to the 1960s, none were around by this time, apart from the Dr's ship/Tardis.

The Reboot then, as it started in the 1960s, so not Season 1 but 9 or 10? I am no Whovian. The reboots were much slicker with the writing & filming is better in the new era, My Dr Who was Tom Baker & K9, although I vaguely remember Jon Pertwee also, those older ones were kind of cheap sets and the earliest were black and white film/video the stories were iffy but could be funny. Daleks scared the poop out of me.

Great choice for a first anime, and FANTASTIC choice going with the dub. I'm going to go ahead and get spicy and say that, unless you speak Japanese fluently and don't speak English, it's straight up the best way to watch this show. The work is _phenomenal_ . And honestly, if you're going into a show and do not speak Japanese; start with dub. Some dubs are not good and it's worth switching, but on the whole, for popular shows? You're in for professional work. People say "sub only" out of habit and 4Kids localization trauma from the 00s, and little else.

Police boxes are actually pretty cool. They work the same way as a regular phone box, except their phone line is dedicated to police calls. I also heard somewhere that they served as temporary holding cells for criminals if they were caught too far from a precinct and transportation. They may also have served as a sort of makeshift panic room for civilians who were being chased by would-be killers, but don't quote me on that one.

FMAB is one of the few anime that I always recommend Dub to. The voice acting is stellar!

Matt Berry (voice of the organ harveting robot) is awesome. He's in the What We Do in the Shadows tv series and is amazing...

It still makes me laugh that the Snip-Snip robot replaced her finger when it intended to harvest her organs. 😁
